Santos GLNG has officially opened its new community shopfront in Taroom, providing the local community with a one-stop-shop for information on its operations in the region.
Located on Yaldwyn Street, the office will be manned by dedicated Santos GLNG community engagement adviser and long-term Taroom resident Caroline Bunker, and features information on the business and its operations across Queensland, including the Surat and Bowen Basins.
Santos GLNG Community & Support Services Team Leader Jamie Miller and Santos GLNG Scotia Team Leader Andrew Snars joined Councillor Vaughn Becker to officially open the venue.
"Taroom is located near one of our oldest operating gasfields, Scotia, where we have 27 production wells and nine appraisal wells," Mr Miller said.
"We've been operating in the region for many years, and as an Australian-owned and operated company here for the long-term, the area represents an important part of our future.
"We are encouraging community members to drop by the shopfront to learn more about Santos GLNG though interactive tools and fact sheets as well as information on natural gas.
"We were really pleased when long-term Taroom resident Caroline Bunker joined our team last year and it's great she will be able to introduce fellow residents to Santos GLNG and talk to people about our activities."
Santos GLNG welcomes community members to visit the shopfront at 37/39 Yaldwyn Street, Taroom between 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday or call the dedicated community line on 1800 761 113.
